Forest Update

Posted June 12th, 2007

The Hostel once again gives thanks to another rainy day. We spent today relaxing inside and having a musical jam session as our gardens soaked up all the water they could get.

As for what happened this past week, Arturo Rendon was kind enough to build us a new pool bench / storage bin by the pool. In the week of heat that we’ve had, the pool has been in heavy use, and its wonderful to have a storage space over there. Also, in the news of woodwork, Daniel came through here once again, and helped us to drop a dangerous tree that had been hit by lighting during last weeks storms. Thanks so much to you two, as well as all of the folks that have helped out this week!

The gardens are coming along nicely, with several new beds prepared. The garden continues to supply us with a steady amount of onions, squash, and cucumbers (which we have been fermenting into pickles!).

In one final note, we would like to thank the ladies that cleaned out the chicken coop. The chickens, who have been recently receiving French lessons from Bo, most defiantly appreciate it.

May The Forest Be With You…
