Weekly Update 09-30-2009

Posted September 30th, 2009

Chilly chilly chilly! Let me remind you that I am a born and raised Floridian, therefor my observations are slightly skewed when dealing with the temperature. We wandered throughout the entire summer whether or not the thermometer worked that is right outside the kitchen, leading to the dining hall. Well it does. It read 68 degrees last night, instead of the 85 I had noticed during the summer. this past week has brought cool evenings and mornings with a perfectly warm afternoon in between. It is unfortunate for me, that I am leaving within a weeks time and will not be here for the winters magical grasp it has on the hostel. It is what it is, and I smile none the less.

The winter garden has been prepped for the winter season and now awaits seeds that are in the process of sprouting right now. We have a good variety and have been sending out good thoughts for the upcoming season. Fingers crossed in anticipation.

I do not know if it is just me, but I sense a overall slowing down for the season ahead and the opportunity for getting to understand oneself better through deep reflection as well as new found friendships and strengthened old ones. Thumbs up, lets do this!
