As the golden leaves fall to the ground the Hostel in the Forest embarks on yet another amazing week. This past weekend we had an wonderful time. Kara once again led a beautiful Yoga session out at the sweat lodge in the early morning sun. This was followed up in the early afternoon by Anneli, our Swedish work-exchange, leading us on a creative writing journey. This workshop allowed us to break free of our preconcieved limitations and create fiction with out fear.
Instead of Tea Time with Tom this past weekend, we walked the T-Trail with Tom, and our guests raved about the experience. We are waiting to confirm this weekends scheduelle and will have it up in the early part of tomorrow.
Until then Hostelers, May the Forest Be with You…

All dishes are welcomed and if you have any questions as to what might be the best thing to bring you can always give us a call! We look forward to you spending Thanksgiving with us!

Hey there hostelers around the world. This week the Hostel in the Forest has been at a warm comfortable temperature during its days but the blankets have been going fast at night. If you think you may get cold it may be a good idea to bring an extra blanket or sleeping bag.
This weekend was a blast. We look forward to more weekends like it and hopefully you can join us. Saturady started with a breathing meditation and a light yoga session led by Kara, and after lunch many of us gathered in the Screen Porch for an afternoon tea with Tom. While the Chai was the group sat down to discuss the growth and changes in technology in relation to our world here at the Hostel. It was highly stimulating, as was our game night. After Dinner many of us gathered to play Chess, Pool, Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Jenga, Cards and Settlers of Catan.
Sunday a group went out to get “Down and Dirty” in the blue berry patch, where our guests, led by the garden crew, helped to clear weeds, prune and even mulch. Then before dinner Luke taught some people the logistics of our new cob oven, and then proceeded by teaching his method of delicious sour dough bread. Next weeks events will be listed above… hope to see you there

Well hostelers we had a wonderful focused weekend. With the return of former manager Travis Bowman leading a Speak Your World workshop on Saturday afternoon, the weekend was off to a brilliant start.
Luke our very own Kitchen Guru, then led a Sustainable Kitchen workshop teaching those present how to make Kim Chi, how to properly manage compost, and using as much veggi cuttings as possible to make our own Veggie stock, making bullion an unnecessary commodity.
Saturday evening after dinner we gathered around the fire for an open mic, where ears were blessed by music, stories and poetry.
Sunday was followed up with former staff member Sister Kay leading us through an afternoon Yoga session. Then Miss Kara Smith, presently on staff, led our monthly full moon sweat, taking the participants on a growth journey through the Chakra’s.
Think you missed out? Well good news folks, the Hostel will be having workshop based, focused weekends from here on out. Want to help? Great! We are currently looking to book past guests to come and teach and guide us. Whether your skill lies in the arts, the spirit, nature or eco-science, we would love to have you come down to lead a discussion or workshop. Just call for more information… hope to see you soon.

Well hostelers, it has been a wonderful start to our fall season here at the domefront. We had a Fall Festival this past weekend where there was a sourdough baking workshop, a mask making workshop and we even bobbed for apples.
On Saturday night as witches and game characters, punks, faeries, and trees stood around preparing for our mascerade ball, there was a mysterious murder, but alas there were clues all around the forest. As the hostel staff was taken out one at a time, there were more ghosts zombies and monsters arising. The Haunted Hostel in the Forest was a big hit, and we are sorry if you missed it.
We had a beach trip to Jekyll Island last night to celebrate our actual night of Halloween. Around the Hostel we have been busy as always, improving our gardens, collecting wood, and felling some old dead trees. We look forward to having you here soon…
But please folks, if you reserve, you must call the day before to confirm your reservation, otherwise please cancel as soon as you are aware of the need to do so. There have been an abundance of no-shows lately, and it impacts othes that would like to visit.
Keep an eye out for more updates soon.
