Winter Work Week

Please note that The Hostel in the Forest will be closed for overnight reservations starting Sunday, January 18th, 2026 for our annual winter work week but WE ARE OPEN TO VOLUNTEERS!

Throughout January, we’re inviting members and volunteers to help care for the land while the Hostel remains open for reservations. Together, we’ll take on a series of projects that support the long-term health and resilience of the forest.

Event Details

  • Date: January 18th - January 23rd, 2026

  • Location: The Hostel in the Forest, Brunswick, GA

  • Open to: Community members and volunteers

Volunteer Details

  • Room and board provided

  • Three-day minimum stay (week-long stay encouraged)

  • Continental breakfast, plus lunch and dinner provided

  • Daily 9am meeting to set tasks and intentions

Project Details

This week will focus on the inside bones of the forest:

• Deep cleaning shared spaces

• Boardwalk and pathway repairs

• Organizing, sorting, and decluttering storage areas

• Refreshing systems so the land and buildings can breathe again
