Winter Work Month
Throughout January, we’re inviting members and volunteers to help care for the land while the Hostel remains open for reservations. Together, we’ll take on a series of projects that support the long-term health and resilience of the forest.

Volunteer Details
Room and board provided
Three-day minimum stay (week-long stays encouraged)
Continental breakfast, plus lunch and dinner provided
Daily 9am meeting to set tasks and intentions
Project Details:
Removing fallen trees from the front pond, clearing storm debris around the domes, refreshing the T-Trail and all fire breaks, caring for Mrs. Driveway and reopening water trenches on both sides, cleaning the grey-water trench from Laundry Land to the chicken trench, reopening the water trench from the flower garden and blueberry patch to Mr. Road
At the Solar Field, we’ll also: Push back gum trees, locate, mark, and clear around saplings planted by past staff, build new hugel mounds, expand garden spaces, continue developing the rabbit-tat, extend the natural irrigation canal system, explore a potential berm to buffer sound from the neighboring shooting range
