Wattle Weaving with Ande “the Elf” Schewe
Join Ande “the Elf” Schewe on Monday, February 16th, 2026 for a hands-on class rooted in care, craft, and conversation. Together we will tend the on-site rivercane patch, practicing thoughtful and gentle harvest, and weave a wattle fence from the materials gathered.
Through focused dialogue, we’ll explore the current relationship between people and rivercane, and the ecology of rivercane ecosystems. Participants will weave rivercane onto staves or spires of split black locust or live oak, learning both technique and context as we work.
