Dr. Bronner’s Obituary

It is with a heavy heart that we must announce the passing of our beloved rooster, Dr. Bronner. For those of you who had the privilege to meet him, know him, and witness his gentle but able care of the hostel hens, this news is sure to weigh on your day.

The American Standard of Perfection is a collection of traits, and characteristics that a breed of chicken must exemplify in order to compete in poultry competitions where the finest breeders from across the states aim to show their finest hens or roosters in yearly competitions.

Dr. Bronner was a gorgeous rooster, though he may not have been able to compete due to some feature that did not match the "Standard", he was truly the perfect rooster for the Hostel in the Forest. He was a fine protector of his flock, and was always searching for food along the forest floor for the hens. He had a velvet tenor crow that even Pavarotti himself would admire. Some roosters can be aggressive to small children and full grown adults, but Dr. B. would respect our boundaries and had never lifted a talon towards our guests or keepers.

You can view his original feature here.

Dr. Bronner is surely keeping watch from above, as he has earned his wings to sing from on high.

Alas, he is survived by his two son's, Mercury Bronner Esq., Herald Bronner Esq., and his Top hen Vannessa.
